MARK HARTMAN
Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar
Hey! My name is Mark. I'm the lead singer of
Junior Doctor. I was born and raised in Cocoa Beach Florida. I am a
reasonable height for my age. I ran a mile once. Immediately after
I decided to never do that again. I started my first band (Mach
Orange) when I was 15. We were a pretty awesome punk rock band. I'm
a huge comic book geek. Superman is my all time favorite superhero.
Oreo cookies and milk is the best snack ever invented. I hope that
the last thing I do before I die is eat an Oreo and then take a
giant gulp of milk. Mexican food is the best. The hottest girl I've
ever seen works at a Mexican restaurant called Tijuana Flats. Her
name is Megan. I'm a pretty awesome cook. I used to skateboard, but
an unfortunate accident cut my skateboarding career short. Lets
just say I'm half the man I was. I don't care what anyone says, I
liked the Lost series finale. I watch more TV than I should, and I
love every second of it. I believe humans were created to connect
with each other. I love meeting new people. I wish I had more time
to spend with the people that mean the most to me. I try every day
to be a better person than I am, and I'll continue trying for the
rest of my life.
1. What was the single most thing that inspired you to play
music? My dad drove my friends and I 2 hours to shows in a run
down warehouse where one of my favorite bands were playing (Ghoti
Hook). There were a little over 20 kids at the show. I loved it.
The band brought it so hard. They played perfect and treated us
like we were a million people. That night I decided I wanted to be
in a band.
2. What is your favorite band and why? Blink 182. I know its
cliché’, but I grew up watching their career and they made music
and being in a band just look so fun. They didn't want to grow up
and neither did I. Their songs are the sound track to my teenage
years. That’s why.
3. What hobbies do you have when you have time away from the
band? I love reading and collecting comic books. Ever since I
was a kid I have just loved the idea of super heroes. I'm a geek,
and I don't care who knows it!
4. If you could only eat one food the rest of your life what
would it be? Cheesy Gordita Crunch. Oh how I love them
5. What is your favorite song to listen to when nobody else is
listening - the worst 'guilty pleasure' on your iPod? Wow,
there are just some many. Well, recently it's Katy Perry-
California Girls. It's my jam
6. Money no object: if someone told you had to buy and live in 5
houses in 5 different cities, what cities would you choose?
Tokyo, Paris, Cocoa Beach, Honolulu, London
7. What's the best meal you've ever eaten? My Mom's chili.
So good!
8. Which one musician - dead or alive - would you like to meet
and why? Elton John. He has been one of my biggest inspirations
musically. His vocal melodies absolutely blow me away. I would just
love to be able to tell him.
9. All-time favorite movie? Newsies
10. Which of the following do you prefer:
Skiing or Beach: Beach. I hate the cold
Sports Car or SUV: SUV all the way. Party in the car! Woot!
Woot!
Downloads or CD’s: CD's. There is just something about
owning the disc that feels really good to me
Park or Pool: Pool. Floating is the closest thing to
flying
Morning or Night: Night. Mornings are too bright
Beer or Wine: Beer is tastier, Wine is fancier. Depends on
my mood
